Users: Using UCP

A series for the people who use QVOICE Platform every day, once they are signed in. It shows the web app's main areas, then how to make and transfer calls.

3 videos · about 3 minutes.

The videos use fictitious demo data: the company "Acme Dental" and its users.

1. A Tour of UCP

1 min 1 s

What the video covers:

  • Your numbers: the bar at the top shows your company's Main Numbers, your direct number under Assigned DIDs, and under Outbound CID the number people see when you call.
  • Last Activity: your calls, voicemails, faxes and meetings, with tabs to filter them.
  • Missed Calls: the calls still waiting for you to call back.
  • Preferences: Do Not Disturb, call forwarding and call recording at a glance.
  • You and your colleagues: your name and extension on the right, with green badges when your phone and updates are connected. Below, your colleagues with their extensions; tick All to list every one of them.
  • The keypad: the keypad icon opens the dial pad.
  • Settings: your voicemail, Follow Me, call forwarding, and your audio and video devices.

2. Making Calls

1 min 15 s

What the video covers:

  • Call a colleague: point at their name in the contacts list on the right and click the green Call button. Colleagues who are online are listed; tick All to see everyone.
  • The call card: your call shows up at the bottom right, as Outgoing Call until they answer, then with a running timer.
  • During the call: mute your microphone, put the call on Hold (and Unhold), or open the keypad to press numbers. Hang Up with the red button.
  • Dial a number: open the keypad, type an extension or a full phone number, and press the green call key. Hang up before they answer to cancel.
  • Answer a call: an incoming call appears in the same place, with Answer and Decline.
  • Call back: a call you missed waits in Missed Calls; click Call back. Every call is also listed in Last Activity, where the phone icon calls back too.

3. Transferring Calls

50 s

What the video covers:

  • The transfer buttons: while you are on a call, the buttons on the right of the call card transfer it.
  • Blind transfer sends the call straight to a colleague: click Blind Transfer, choose who it goes to under Input / Select Destination, and click Confirm. The call rings at their desk and your part ends.
  • Attended transfer lets you talk to your colleague first: click Attended Transfer, pick them in the Transfer to window, and click Call & transfer. The caller waits on hold while you call your colleague.
  • Finish or go back: click Confirm Transfer to hand the call over, or Cancel Transfer to return to the caller.
